Landscape & Nature Assignment

These photos have gone through a grueling process. They have beat out dozens of other photos and made it through a difficult editing process. So now, I present to you.... THE FINAL NINE.......

   11-17-12 (Rockaway Beach, OR)
   IS0 800
   APERTURE 32
   SS 1/40
I had trouble focusing this photo because of the constantly moving waves and the weather wasn't ideal either.

    11-24-12 (Sandy, OR)
    ISO 200
    APERTURE 5.6
    SS 1/10
My biggest problem with this shot was capturing enough light because it was so dark, that is why I chose to totally underexpose the trees and focus on the sky color.
    11-25-12 Washington
    ISO 100
    APERTURE 5.6
    SS 1/250
I was in a moving vehicle when I took this, that was my biggest challenge.

    11-17-12 Rockaway Beach, OR
    ISO 800
    APERTURE 10
    SS 1/250
I had a very hard time focusing this but once I was able to pull it together at the end.

    11-17-12 Rockaway Beach, OR
    ISO 200
    APERTURE 5.6
    SS 1/125
This is one of my favorite pictures I have ever taken.

    11-25-12 Washington
    ISO 100
    APERTURE 5.6
    SS 1/400
Once again I was in a moving vehicle which made focusing and capturing difficult.

   11-17-12 Banks, OR
   ISO 400
   APERTURE 4
   SS 1/125
We were literally going about 60 mph and I was like "Mom? Can we pull over?, then she did and I dodged traffic and was able to take this beautiful picture.

    11-17-12 Rockaway Beach, OR
    ISO 200
    APERTURE 5.6
    SS 1/125
This photo finally helped me understand aperture. I took this picture, looked at the photo I took and then was like I UNDERSTAND APERTURE!!!!

                11-17-12 Rockaway Beach, OR
                ISO 800
                APERTURE 8
                SS 1/200
I absolutely love this photo. That is why I chose this for my personal favorite category.

I just want to try and be in projects that are exciting to me.

A Photographers Responsibility

Many have heard of the photographer taking a picture of a man about to get hit by a train, his defense was that 1.) There were others trying to help him and 2.) He was trying to warn the train driver with the flash from his camera. After taking sometime to think my conclusion is that both those answers are bull.  It  is apparent from the photograph that there is no one within 5 even 10 feet of this man that is trying to help him, plus a flash to warn the driver? Unless you think blinding him is helpful your point is not valid.

As a photographer the responsibility is the same as it would be if you weren't a photographer. If you see another person in distress it is your duty to help them to the best of your ability, in this case if others were trying to help him get off the tracks then it would be perfect reasonable to take a picture. But there wasn't anyone trying to help so this was not the right place or time for a photograph.

I think the point I'm trying to get across here is that the photographer was in the wrong in this situation, I think he should be charged with something but I don't think that you can charge someone for taking a picture of a man about to die.

ASSIGNMENT UPDATTEEEEE!!!!

ASSIGNMENT UPDATTEEEEE!!!!

I have all my pictures taken and now I plan on starting to edit them. I have narrowed it down to 14 photos that I like so I am going to edit all of them and then from there pick my top 9 that meet the requirements of the project.

My main concern right now is editing them in the right ways, there is one photo I just want to leave the way it is because it is just so amazing but I know that there is one tweak or two I can do to it that will make it even more amazing. Thus far that is my main challenge.
